Today, Microsoft’s latest major version of SharePoint is going to be made publicly available. Whether you like SharePoint or not, this launch will have an impact on many people: many company Intranets and document management systems run on SharePoint and will be updated in the months to come so that administrators, architects, engineers and consultants can make use of the new functionality and users can get their work done through better systems. If you don’t work with SharePoint directly, you most likely are connected with people who do.
This is an exciting event and I am looking forward to many great projects with our clients.
Side note: after Microsoft released the language packs this morning, my friend and colleague Samuel Zürcher upgraded the site of the SharePoint Community Switzerland to SharePoint 2010 just tonight.
